Compare two Search Console periods
Last updated: 2026-10-30
Copy the Performance table from two date ranges (Queries or Pages) and paste both here. The tool matches them by name and shows which rows gained or lost clicks, how much, and what happened to their position, without a spreadsheet.
In Search Console open Performance, pick a date range, copy the table (Queries or Pages, with Clicks, Impressions, CTR and Position) and paste it. Tab or comma separated; a header row is fine.
Runs in your browser. Nothing you enter is sent anywhere.
How it works
Match by query or page
Rows are matched by their exact name, so the two exports must be the same report (Queries with Queries, Pages with Pages). Everything else is calculated per row.
Changes in clicks and position
For each row the tool shows clicks in both periods, the difference, the percent change and the average position, sorted so the biggest losses come first.
Why position matters
A row that lost clicks while keeping its position lost demand (or CTR); a row that lost position lost ranking. That difference decides what to fix.

Do it for every page with GSC Magic
Pasting exports works for one site and one pair of periods. With GSC Magic connected, your AI agent can run the same comparison against the API for every site you manage, with no 1,000-row limit, and write the summary.
Compare the last 28 days with the 28 days before for each of my sites and list the biggest click losses with their cause.
Which queries lost clicks but kept their average position in the last 28 days?
Questions
Which dates should I compare?
Two periods of the same length, ideally 28 days each and without the last 2–3 days, which Search Console still fills in. The Performance report has a Compare tab that uses exactly this idea.
Is the export limited?
The interface exports up to 1,000 rows per report, which is enough for most sites. For larger sites compare one directory at a time using a filter, or let an AI agent query the API.
Why do some rows show as new or lost?
A query that appears in one period but not the other is new (it gained all its clicks) or lost (it lost all of them). That is often a query crossing the reporting threshold rather than a real ranking change.
Does this upload my data anywhere?
No. The comparison runs in your browser; nothing you paste leaves the page.
