Google Search Console, Bing and GA4 in Cursor

Cursor supports remote MCP servers over Streamable HTTP with OAuth. Add GSC Magic to your global or project mcp.json and the agent can pull search data while it works on your pages.

In short

Add a "gsc-magic" entry with the URL https://mcp.gscmagic.com/mcp to ~/.cursor/mcp.json, complete the OAuth sign-in from Cursor Settings → MCP, and the Cursor agent can pull Search Console, Bing and GA4 data while it works on your pages.

Set up in 3 steps

  1. Create a GSC Magic account and connect Google.
  2. Add the snippet below to ~/.cursor/mcp.json (global) or .cursor/mcp.json in the project.
  3. Open Cursor Settings → MCP, click the server and complete the sign-in when prompted.
mcp.json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "gsc-magic": { "url": "https://mcp.gscmagic.com/mcp" }
  }
}

Good to know

  • Older Cursor builds that return to a cursor:// address cannot complete OAuth. Create an access token in the dashboard and add it as an Authorization: Bearer header in the same JSON entry.
  • Everything is read-only unless you turn on write mode on a paid plan, so your agent can look but not change your site.
  • The Free plan allows 200 tool calls a month and 10 a day for one site. Pro removes the limits and stores 16 months of history.

What to ask once connected

  • "List my Search Console properties and the one with the most clicks last 28 days."
  • "Which queries sit in positions 4–10 with the most impressions? Suggest title changes."
  • "Compare clicks this month with last month by page and tell me what moved."
  • "Which URLs in my sitemap are not indexed, and what does the inspection say?"
  • "How many sessions came from ChatGPT, Perplexity and Claude last month, and to which pages?"

Troubleshooting

Cursor shows "Needs login" but the browser flow never completes.

Older Cursor builds return to a cursor:// address that OAuth cannot redirect to. Create an access token in the dashboard and add "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer gsm_…" } to the server entry.

The server appears with zero tools.

The GSC Magic workspace has no imported sites or Google is not connected. Fix it in the dashboard, then toggle the server off and on in Cursor Settings → MCP.

The agent does not use the tools.

Mention them: "use gsc-magic to check which URLs from the sitemap are not indexed". Agent mode must be on; Ask mode does not call tools.

A project .cursor/mcp.json is ignored.

Reload the window after editing the file, and make sure the JSON is valid (trailing commas break it silently).

Questions about Cursor

Which Cursor tools will the agent see?

All read tools your plan and Google permissions allow, from gsc_query_analytics to the report_* tools and GA4. Cursor shows the list under Settings → MCP.
